HIRING: Full- Time Buildings and Grounds Worker – Custodial and Maintenance

The Clay County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for a full-time Buildings and Grounds Worker.

This position is responsible for actively participating in the maintenance and management of a property's physical assets, including buildings, grounds, and equipment. The primary role is to ensure that the property is well-maintained, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. Will strive to meet desired standards regarding general appearance, cleanliness, and operation efficiency. Provide preventative maintenance care of all equipment used.

General Maintenance Worker I – County Road Department (Spencer, IA)

Position: Full-time, hourly
Location: Clay County Road Department, Spencer, IA

Job Summary:
Perform skilled equipment operation, manual labor, and general road maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include:

Operating and servicing heavy equipment

Snow and ice removal

Road and bridge repairs

Mowing and roadside maintenance

Sign installation and other related duties

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED

Must have or be willing to obtain a Class A CDL within 3 months

Must have an insurable driving record

Compensation:

Starting at $36/hour

Comprehensive benefits package

IPERS retirement

Opportunity for overtime
