Job Description: ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY
The Clay County Attorney’s Office in Spencer, Iowa, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant County Attorney.
Primary duties of the position will include representation of Clay County/State of Iowa in all criminal matters, including, but not limited to prosecuting felony and misdemeanor charges, mental health and substance abuse commitments, juvenile court, magistrate court, research, trial work, preparation of search warrants and dependent adult abuse.
Additional duties assigned will be dependent upon candidate’s experience and interest.
Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa.
An experienced trial attorney is preferred, but not required.
Salary range is $70,000.00 to $100,000.00 and is based upon experience.
This position will come with IPERS and an insurance package.

Clay County Conservation
The IRVM Biologist under the supervision of the CCCB Director assists with all the aspects of the Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management (IRVM) Department in roadsides and other natural areas including, but not limited to, noxious weed control, prairie restorations, and equipment operation and maintenance. Serves as the Clay County Weed Commissioner. Assists the Conservation Staff with all aspects of land management under the control of the Conservation Board. Provides technical assistance to landowners with land management decisions. Prepares grants for funding, prepares Weed Commissioner Reports and performs various public relation functions.
