The Governor's Proclamation announcement on June 22, 2024 included a provision (Section 12) that ๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฉ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ฅ๐ฎ ๐ค๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐๐ก ๐ง๐๐๐ค๐ง๐ ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ง๐๐๐ค๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐๐จ ๐ก๐ค๐จ๐ฉ, ๐๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ง๐ค๐ฎ๐๐, ๐ค๐ง ๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ก๐ก๐๐๐๐๐ก๐ as a result of the severe storms and widespread flooding that occurred on June 21, 2024 and continued thereafter.
As of June 27, 2024, the following counties have been included in the most recent Disaster Emergency: Adair, Adams, Buena Vista, Butler, Calhoun, Cedar, Cherokee, Clay, Dallas, Franklin, Hamilton, Hancock, Harrison, Humboldt, Jasper, Iowa, Jackson, Kossuth, Marshall, Mitchell, Montgomery, Muscatine, Polk, Pottawattamie, Poweshiek, Shelby, Story, Tama and Wright Counties.

Due to staffing issues, the Clay County Recorder's Office will be unable to process passport applications starting July 8, 2024, until further notice. Surrounding counties may have availability. Check with those counties for more information.
REAL ID Requirement Extended
If your driver's license or ID doesn't have a REAL ID gold star by to May 7, 2025 you will need to show a different TSA-approved idenitity document
(Like a passport or military ID) to fly. There is no additional cost or testing to get
a REAL ID gold star, however, you will need to bring in a few documents.
