General Maintenance Worker I – County Road Department (Spencer)

Clay County is accepting applications for a full-time, hourly position as a General Maintenance Worker I with the County Road Department in Spencer. This position involves skilled equipment operation, manual labor, and road maintenance tasks.

Primary Duties Include:

Operating and servicing heavy equipment
Snow and ice removal
Road and bridge repairs
Mowing and sign installation
Additional related duties as assigned

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
Must have an insurable driving record
Class A CDL required (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
Compensation & Benefits: $36/hour

Work reporting location will be Clay County Maintenance Building in Spencer.

Eligible candidates must:

Possess a valid Type -A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brakes and semi-trailer combination endorsement or be able to obtain one within six months of employment.
